BIO
Thymel is an interdisciplinary artist born in Lyon, France, working between Lyon and New York. Her practice spans painting, sculpture, textiles, conceptual couture, performance, and film not as seperate disciplines but as parts of one constantly evolving language.
She grew up at a crossroads of cultures, a formation that became, in itself, a school of seeing. Her work emerges from lived experience, and material instinct: stitched surfaces, sculpted forms, garments, image and gesture, each project free to find its own structure building what words could not yet hold.
The Practice
My work began with listening. For a long time, the voice of my inner child stayed quiet, waiting for a world worthy of her clarity. When she returned, she asked to build.
Together we construct a sovereign world rooted in culture, heritage, ordered around beauty, where love is not a feeling but an act. In a present that has lost its ground, we shape what should exist: a world where beauty sits at the center, not the periphery. Where love is architecture, not emotion alone.
I work through making, stitching, layering pigment, draping fabric, sculpting form, performing presence through film, because a sovereign world needs matter, not myth, to become real. Each medium is a wall, a garment, a ceremony in this world we are raising.
Mission
Thymel builds sovereign worlds where beauty is an act, love a material, and childhood a force, and where technology is forced to organize istself around a presence.
